When it was created in 2003, Lleters de Catalunya, LLet Nostra SCCL, an agreement was made between the Catalan Dairy Farm Cooperatives to activate a commercial and industrial project to achieve three important objectives:

1. To give support to the requirements of the milk producing sector.

2. Re-valuation of the milk produced.

3. To supply Catalan consumers directly with a rpoduct guaranteed for its quality and origin.

The initial commercial process was consolidated with the opening of the industrial packaging plant of liquid milk in Catalonia: Llet Nostra. This is the most important reference in the dairy industry in Catalonia and is differentiated by being a business owned by Catalan Dairy Farmers, a cooperative project, autoctonous and located amid our people and our country.

The installation of the first industrial plant of Llet Nostra affords its managers total control of the whole process which the product undergoes, from the farm (nutrition, genetic selection, cattle management teaching techniques and milk collection), transportation, manufacturing processes, packaging and commercialisation of the milk to the consumer.

The principal characteristics are those of the modernisation and efficiency of the farms associated, the aim for quality throughout the entire production process and also the technical qualifications and aptitudes of the professionals working on the farms to ensure maximum quality of the product.

Lleters de Catalunya, Llet Nostra SCCL is a second-degree cooperative which incorporates the following cooperatives:

At present Lleters de Catalunya, Llet Nostra SCCL is participating in various European research, investigation and innovation projects.

We are actively involved in the following projects : , based on the bio-sensor technology for the simultaneous
detection of pathogen providing rapid, economic and reliable results.
; is investigating a technique which enables the production of
layers of plastic film from milk serum, to be used in the manufacture of food packaging.
; the project a website on the internet which provides solutions and
recommendations for energy-saving on dairy farms; and the project , about biogas research and development.
